Funds may be used to purchase the following improvements:

Weatherization 

    1. Floor/wall/attic insulation 
    2. Heating and cooling equipment (Energy Star Qualified) 
        a. For example, split system air source heat pumps must be 15 SEER or more, package systems 14 SEER or greater 
        b. Air conditioners, split systems 13 SEER or greater, package 14 SEER or greater 
        c. Energy Star windows and doors 
        d. Envelope sealing 
        e. Duct sealing 
        f. Duct insulation (think of attics) 

    3. Certain color of metal or shingled roofing that is Energy Star qualified

Water heating 

    1. Heat pump water heaters (GE/Rheem) 
    2. Solar—system must be certified by the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (and other requirements)

Energy Star Appliances -
Funds can be used to purchase Energy Star appliances, many of which can be found at the Flint Appliance Center.

­     Washing machines 
­     Refrigerators
