EV Rate Change Authorization & Agreement

Residential Service-Electric Vehicle Time of Use - Rate 20

The undersigned member requests a change in the billing rate from the current Residential Service - Rate 1 to Residential Service-Electric Vehicle Time of Use - Rate 20 (“Electric Vehicle Rate”). Member also requests to participate in the “Drive Free For A Year” program. The undersigned acknowledges and agrees to the following terms and conditions:

• The Electric vehicle must be 100% electric. Hybrid fuel-powered vehicles are not allowed. Proof of electric vehicle state registration required at time of request.
•  The Electric vehicle charger must be a Level 2 (240 V) charger or greater.
• Members on the Electric Vehicle Rate are not eligible to receive the Net Metering Energy Rider (Solar).
• Members on the Flint Energies Pay-Your-Way (Prepaid Metering) rate are not eligible to participate in the Electric Vehicle Rate.
• Drive Free For A Year monthly incentive of $25 is applied to Member’s Flint Energies account for a maximum of 12 consecutive months, to begin with the January 2026 member billing. If Member disconnects service, the remainder of this incentive is forfeited. If member reapplies for a new account, the Drive Free For A Year incentive is not applicable.
• Multiple electric vehicles do not qualify for additional incentives.
• The undersigned agrees to keep an electric vehicle and Level 2 charger, as well as remain on the Electric Vehicle Rate for twelve (12) consecutive months. At the end of the initial twelve (12) month period, the Electric Vehicle Rate will remain in effect until Flint is provided with notice to have the electric rate changed to the Residential Service - Rate 1, or the appropriate rate that applies to the service location at that time.
• Members on the Electric Vehicle Rate agree to a bill due date change with due date being on the 2nd of each month.

It is acknowledged, understood and agreed that the undersigned will pay the rates in the most recent Residential Service-Electric Vehicle Time of Use - Rate 20, as approved by the Flint Board of Directors, from time to time.

As of April 1, 2026, the Electric Vehicle Rate is as follows:

Monthly Rate:
On-Peak Period defined as 2:00 PM-8:00PM
Off-Peak Periods defined as 6:00AM-2:00PM and 8:00PM-12:00AM (Midnight)
Super Off-Peak Period defined as 12:00AM (Midnight)-6:00AM

Service Charge: 
Single Phase- $38.00 per Month 
Three Phase -$38.00 per Month

On-Peak kWh usage: 17.56 Cents per kWh
Off-Peak kWh usage 10.05 Cents per kWh
Super Off-Peak Usage 5.50 Cents per kW

**To complete rate authorization, applicants must attach a copy of the official vehicle registration document showing  ownership of the electric vehicle referenced below.**
