At Flint Energies, powering homes and businesses is only part of the story. For more than 20 years, something even more meaningful has been happening behind the scenes—neighbors helping neighbors, and employees coming together to make sure every child experiences the joy of Christmas morning.

That’s the heart behind Linemen for Little Ones.

A Tradition of Giving Back

Linemen for Little Ones was created over two decades ago by Pamela Knight and Al Williams at Flint Energies with a simple but powerful mission: to bring Christmas to children who might not otherwise have one.

These are families living on Flint Energies’ lines—members of the same communities our crews serve every day. When the holiday season arrives, this program steps in to ensure that children wake up to the excitement and magic of a traditional Christmas morning.

Because every child deserves that moment.

More Than Electricity—It’s Community

Lineworkers are often recognized for the work they do during storms—restoring power in the toughest conditions. But programs like Linemen for Little Ones show another side of their service.

This initiative is powered by employees, volunteers, and community members who believe in giving back in a tangible, meaningful way. It’s about more than gifts under a tree—it’s about:

  • Bringing joy to families during the holidays
  • Supporting neighbors in times of need
  • Living out the cooperative spirit that defines Flint Energies

Events That Power the Program

Linemen for Little Ones is made possible through community support and annual fundraising events that bring people together for a great cause.

🎣 Fishing Tournament – April 18, 2026

Held at Georgia Veterans State Park on beautiful Lake Blackshear, this event welcomes anglers of all skill levels.

  • Traditional fishing tournament with a bank fishing option
  • Children under 10 fish free
  • Registration begins at 6:30 a.m.
  • Lines in at 7:00 a.m. (or sunrise)

It’s a morning of fun, fellowship, and fishing—all in support of making Christmas brighter for local families.

Golf Tournament – September 21

Hosted at The Landings Golf Club, this 4-man scramble is another key fundraiser for the program.

  • Registration at 8:00 a.m.
  • Tee-off at 9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch and awards to follow

Whether you’re playing for fun or competition, every swing helps support a child’s Christmas.

A Season of Hope

Linemen for Little Ones is a powerful reminder that the work of an electric cooperative goes far beyond delivering power. It’s about people. It’s about community. And it’s about showing up for one another—especially during the moments that matter most.

Because when power meets purpose, lives are changed.

And sometimes, that looks like the joy on a child’s face on Christmas morning.
